Brief
How can we bring to life the innovation and cutting edge tech and craftmanship of Diadora to life, while avoiding the cold lab aesthetic that many in the field lean on?
Solution
Celebrating the kinetic motion of running itself and the beautiful machines from the Diadora innovation lab, with all their unique rhythms and quirks, we created a set of kinetic sculptures. Each sculpture linking to a key feature of the shoe, from the acceleration and toe spring in the carbon plate for the Gara Carbon, to the feeling of a fluid run created by the thicker midsole of the Cellula.
Intricate detailing from the shoe designs are incorporated into the sculptures creating a clear link between the sculpture and hero product shoe at the end of each film.
Role
My role in this project shifted from pitching initial concepts to the client, R&D, design, animation, edit, grade on the live action footage and versioning. This was a really fun project to work on with an awesome team, an unexpectedly unique brief with love put into every scene.
